Featured Winery of the Week – Story of Soil

Story of Soil is a hidden gem located in a charming bungalow off the main hub in Los Olivos. It is tucked away and has that feeling of being a special place only few people know about. The rustic elegance inside alludes to the wines this place is dedicated to:  a balance of robust flavor with finesse. It’s clear Winemaker Jessica Gasca has dedicated her life to the crafting of wine.  From vineyard internship to apprenticeship to creating her own, her single varietal wines and winemaking style are undeniably a labor of love. Wines include: 2016 Sierra Madre Pinot Noir 2017 Martian Gamay …

Featured Wine of the Week

Happy Wine Wednesday!  I’m introducing a new feature on The Wine Muse:  “Featured Wine of the Week.”  Join me every Wednesday to find out what I’m drinking. This week, I’m enjoying a beautiful 2015 Pinot Noir from Dragonette, a boutique winery in the Central Coast.  They have a delightful tasting room in Los Olivos where you can try their stunning Pinot Noirs. This 2015 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is the loveliest color of ruby red.  It is herbacious and earthy on the nose.  It features tastes of dark plum and cranberry on the palate.  Light tannins round it out. Cheers!
